Who Is Goldy Brar?
Son of Shamsher Singh, a former assistant sub-inspector in the Punjab police, Satwinder Singh, also known as Satinderjit Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, hails from Muktsar in Punjab.
He was purportedly connected to the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa, which was implicated in a number of killings, the smuggling of weapons and ammunition, and the promotion of extreme ideologies.
He arrived in Canada in 2017 with a student visa. Goldy Brar had no criminal history at this time. In Punjab, he had been cleared of charges despite being implicated in some small violent incidents.
Brar is said to have taken over the operations of Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was imprisoned, after coming to Canada. Among other crimes, these activities involved extortion rackets in India and contract killing. After he was the subject of an Interpol alert in 2022, he supposedly relocated to the US.
Goldy Brar is suspected of being involved in over 50 homicides, and in May of last year, he was placed 15 out of 25 on Canada’s most wanted list.
His admission of guilt over Sidhu Moose Wala’s death attracted the attention of the new media.
Sidhu Moose Wala Murder Case
Gangster Goldy Brar admitted in June 2023 to having Congressman and Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala killed. He asserted that the murder was committed in retaliation for Vicky Middukhera, a student leader who was killed in Punjab in 2022.
He added that Salman Khan was among his top ten targets and referred to the artist as an “egotistical person” who needed to be disciplined.
The mastermind behind the horrible murder of the Punjabi musician was identified as Goldy Brar, according to a 1,850-page charge sheet filed against the thug. He is also charged with killing Gurlal Singh Bhullar, also known as Pehalwan, the leader of the Faridkot Youth Congress. According to reports, this murder might have been committed as payback for his relative Gurlal Brar’s passing.
Additionally, the NIA thinks he may be connected to terrorists Lakhbir Singh, who is located in Canada, and Babbar Khalsa International.
Goldy Brar was designated a terrorist by the Center in January 2024 in accordance with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
