Harley Quinn and the Clown Prince of Crime want you to know that love is what the world needs right now. The first teaser for “Joker: Folie à Deux,” starring Joaquin Phoenix in his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck (known as Batman’s archenemy) and Lady Gaga as the similarly deranged Harley Quinn, conveys this idea.
Joker 2: The First Scene
The gritty and gloomy scene opens at the infamous Arkham Asylum, where Joker is imprisoned at the conclusion of the first movie. Arthur Fleck is having a crazy “meet cute” with another prisoner, who happens to be Gaga’s Harley Quinn. Following their accidental meeting in the prison hallways, they fall madly, and profoundly in love and decide to escape their straight jackets in order to face the outside world. They arrive in Gotham metropolis’s streets and start wildly spinning and dancing about the metropolis.
“I am not a person. Joker is told by Harley Quinn, who is casually clothed in sweatpants, “I haven’t done anything with my life like you have,” as she mimics shooting herself in the head and points with her finger.
Introducing The Characters
The Joker, who is portrayed in this cinematic world as a solitary, struggling stand-up comic and part-time clown, had a somber origin story told in the first movie. In the follow-up, Harley Quinn plays his deranged muse when he tours his act and performs on several stages; she even sports his trademark lipstick smear. However, Arthur Fleck doesn’t appear to be as lonely this time.
As seen in the trailer, Joker states, “I’ll tell you what’s changed.” I’m not alone anymore, and that’s what we ought to be discussing!
As the teaser closes, we see Harley at Arkham Asylum, drawing a joyful face on the glass, dividing her and the Joker with crimson lipstick. She says to him, “I want to see the real you.”
Director Phillips’s Comments On Joker 2
Prior to releasing the teaser, Phillips expressed gratitude to the theater owners for putting “Joker” on the large screen in spite of rumors that the gory, bloody movie would incite violence.
“The storyline of the film really turned and there were these bizarre warnings about the movie about a month before the first ‘Joker’ came out,” he claimed. It was astounding that theater owners didn’t give up, and the film fared incredibly well when it was released. That mindset played a major role in our achievement.
As Phillips hinted earlier, “Joker” shot to worldwide box office glory, grossing $1 billion. It surpassed the $1 billion revenue milestone as the first R-rated movie and was nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Picture.
Joker 2: The On-Screen Debut
Exactly five years after the first movie, on October 4, 2024, “Joker 2” will make its big screen debut. The production budget for the original was $62.5 million, which was remarkably low for a comic book adaptation. Owing to its enormous financial success, a far larger $200 million budget was allocated for the sequel.
The follow-up will be shown in 70mm Imax format. The business has produced at least 10 film prints of “Joker: Folie à Deux” to be shown in a few select sites across the world, despite the fact that it was shot using Imax-certified lenses, which alter digital cameras rather than their film cameras.
