On April 14, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its electoral manifesto. Launching the manifesto, “Sankalp Patra,” at the party headquarters in Delhi were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and other prominent party members in attendance. The release of the manifesto fell on the anniversary of the birth of BR Ambedkar, a well-known Dalit leader and the primary drafter of the Indian Constitution.
BJP Manifesto
As promised earlier by Prime Minister Modi, contributions to the manifesto drafting process came from both online and offline party members. The National President JP Nadda recently unveiled ‘Viksit Bharat Modi ki Guarantee’ video vans, demonstrating the BJP’s vigorous pursuit of recommendations from a wide range of demographics. These vans traveled the country, collecting opinions from the general public to inform the party’s platform.
