Interns at Disney Star India are given a chance to grow in a variety of roles and gain new skills in order to launch their careers. Professional development and advancement opportunities abound in fields like creative communications and human resources.
The Life at Disney blog invited six Indian interns to share their insights and anecdotes!
Aayushi, Intern in Creative Communications for Hindi Films and the English Cluster
I became interested in the media and entertainment industry in my first year of an MBA. It was, indeed, the best of all worlds (forgive the Hannah Montana joke) because I was a Disney kid growing up and now I adore media. Therefore, landing a Disney Star internship was like a dream come true. In my experience, Disney Star has been incredibly helpful to its staff members and interns. I always receive encouragement to dream big and think creatively. Moreover, Disney Star cultivates an environment that welcomes inquiry and is staffed by friendly, helpful individuals.
Arvind, PRS Team Intern (Kids Network and Hindi General Entertainment Channel)
I did a Disney+ Hotstar research assignment in college. Specifically, I looked over a lot of Disney’s content and
thoroughly examined their websites as part of this assignment. As a result, I now have a thorough understanding of Disney’s culture, ideals, and range of productions thanks to this investigation. Moreover, it has been an immensely interesting experience for me in this capacity to explore other businesses, analyze trends, and key players, and find opportunities for our team.
Research, Hindi Films, English Cluster, Harsh, And Management Intern
“Disney is a singular entity. I adore the conversations we have and the people we meet. There’s nowhere else at work where people would be talking about anything from characters to films to Disneyland. There won’t be a place where people’s desks are covered with so many action figures of Disney and Marvel characters. There won’t be renowned actors and athletes visiting every other day. It’s a vibrant and enjoyable workplace. One piece of advice for aspiring interns looking to advance their careers here is to network with current employees. You can get a better idea of whether this is the right place for you by speaking with some of the employees.
Julian, An Intern In Human Resources
“My daily tasks as an intern in human resources involve research, communication, analysis, and recording of lessons learned. Developing high-potential talent for organizational excellence was the main goal of my internship project. This initiative offered an amazing chance to engage with staff members from new hires to seasoned veterans, across departments, employment levels, and regional markets. I have so far valued every single conversation I have had with workers. An intern can learn a wide range of things. Everyone has a very different career trajectory and a wealth of experiences and insights, I’ve learned from diverse relationships.
