Halsey, a singer nominated for a Grammy, says she’s “lucky to be alive” despite experiencing health issues.
The 29-year-old implied in an Instagram post that she had been diagnosed with leukemia and lupus, however, she did not specify the ailments.
Halsey Feels “Like An Old Lady”
She can be seen in several pictures and videos expressing she feels “like an old lady” while in the hospital. She captioned the photo with the words, “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive,” and revealed her next album. In addition to revealing her fifth studio album and its first single, The End, Halsey also provided an update on her health. She sings in it about how “the doctor says I’m sick every couple of years now.”
Real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, the American singer-songwriter is well-known for her collaboration with The Chainsmokers on the song “Closer” and her platinum-selling debut album Badlands.
In the Instagram video, she adds, “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.”
“I’m going to have a rebirth and not get sick when I’m thirty.
“I’m going to look super hot and have lots of energy and get to redo my 20s in my 30s.”
Speaking before, Halsey said, “I’ve kind of been sick most of my adult life.” on her poor health.
However, in 2022, she disclosed that the previous year, while she was expecting her son Ender, her health deteriorated.
Claims To Have Had Treatment For Several Illnesses
She claims to have had treatment for several illnesses, such as mast cell activation syndrome, endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, and Sjogren’s syndrome.
By tagging the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in her most recent post, she appeared to be hinting that she was now receiving treatment for both lupus and leukemia.
In one of Halsey’s videos, she may be seen getting medical attention in a hospital, and in her new song, she sings about “poison” in her blood and starting treatment.
Leukaemia is a kind of cancer that affects white blood cells, and it comes in several forms.
According to the NHS, the etiology of leukemia is unknown, and patients may experience fatigue and increased susceptibility to infections.
Conventionally, chemotherapy is used to treat it. The NHS states that the other ailment she alluded to, lupus, is a complex and little-understood illness that can be fatal and impact numerous bodily parts.
Selena Gomez has previously discussed receiving a kidney transplant in 2017 to treat her lupus disease.
While some forms of lupus only affect the skin, lupus erythematosus (SLE), a more severe form of the illness, is typically referred to by this term.
This has an impact on the skin, joints, and internal organs, among other bodily parts.
Many people may have the illness for a long period without realizing it until they experience an abrupt flare-up.
Extreme exhaustion, rashes (particularly on the hands, wrists, and face), joint discomfort, and swelling are some of the symptoms.
