Elahi comments were made after US President Joe Biden stated that, in reaction to Tehran’s missile attack, he was “discussing” potential Israeli strikes on Iranian oil sites.
Iran Warns Israel
Iran has warned Israel that any attack on its oil assets would result in a terrible counterattack, according to Dr. Iraj Elahi, Iran’s ambassador to India. Israel would suffer “more harmful and painful” repercussions from such measures, he underlined.
Following his statement that he was “discussing” potential Israeli strikes on Iranian oil locations in retaliation for Tehran’s missile launch and how Iran will safeguard its oil field assets, US President Joe Biden made the comments attributed to Elahi.
Elahi told ANI that if Israel carried out this action, Iran would retaliate in a way that would be even more damaging and agonizing for the Jewish state. Most of Israel’s infrastructure and installations might sustain damage.
He went on to say that the United States and the world energy market would suffer from any attack on Iranian oil installations. “Damage to the Iranian oil facilities would have an impact on the global energy market. The US and many other nations and stakeholders will not gain from this. In terms of nuclear facilities, we think that some of them are buried beneath mountains, making them impervious to bomb damage.”
Potentially Attacking Iranian Oil Facilities
It’s worth noting that US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that he is “in discussion” about potentially attacking Iranian oil facilities. When asked if he would back Israel attacking Iran’s oil facilities, Biden said, “We’re in discussion of that,” while addressing reporters at the White House.
After all, Biden said that if he were Israeli, he would think twice before attacking oil sources and cautioned Israel about its retaliatory plan. “If I were in their position, I would explore alternatives to targeting oil fields,” Biden said.
Along with calling for moderation to limit civilian losses, he had highlighted Israel’s right to self-defense against strikes from Iran, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
Meanwhile, Elahi claimed that Iran had secured its military installations with several preventative measures. Speaking out, he declared, “Israel and its allies attempt to hit Iran with various strikes because they are fully aware of Iran’s military prowess.” Our number of precautions has been far too high. For Israel’s various actions, we are prepared. Five years after taking office, the Supreme Leader said prayers yesterday, together with all of Iran’s top officials, including the President, the Head of the Judiciary, and the Legislative.
Evidence Suggests That We Were Unconcerned About Israel’s Action.”
Elahi also discussed October 7, the day of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, stating that Iran views the incident differently than the rest of the world does. “We have a very different account of October 7 than many other countries,” he declared. October 7, in our opinion, was not an isolated incident; it had a history and origins. We must research the history of the area as well as the founding of Israel. It was founded on Palestinian territory, he said, and one by one they took over Palestinian homes, set fire to and destroyed crops, and forced the people to flee their country.
Regarding the declaration made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “Iran will pay a price for the actions,” Elahi claimed that his country is prepared and has already taken all necessary steps. “It is natural,” he stated. But we’re prepared. In terms of the military, economy, and even technology, we have taken precautions. We are quite aware of that. We’ve taken the necessary precautions and are completely prepared.”
He continued, “As for diplomacy between Iran and Israel, there is none as we do not acknowledge Israel as a legitimate government. It is an illegal regime, established without legal authority. We have no relationship with Israel as of now.
