On Monday, the Delhi government was instructed by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to adopt a hybrid teaching approach for both universities and schools, allowing both in-person and online instruction when practical.
Delhi-NCR Regions To Operate In Hybrid Mode
The air quality control panel reached its conclusion following the Supreme Court’s directive to evaluate the reopening of physical classes in schools and institutions throughout Delhi-NCR.
The court had ruled that there was no discernible difference between youngsters staying at home and attending school because most households lacked air filters. Concerns about students skipping midday meals and their limited resources preventing them from fully participating in virtual classes were also covered.
In order to allow educational institutions, such as schools and colleges, in the Delhi-NCR regions to operate in hybrid mode, the panel has loosened a number of restrictions under Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) and GRAP IV.
Schools Take Precautions
Schools have started using online learning because of Delhi’s poor air quality, which had fallen to “severe” levels but has subsequently somewhat improved.
Schools in Delhi-NCR increased their efforts to safeguard pupils’ health in the event that physical classes began shortly after the Supreme Court’s order.
In order to prevent potential health hazards associated with air pollution, schools recommended that pupils wear masks and limit their outdoor activities.
