In response to requests from candidates and other stakeholders, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday extended the deadline for submitting online applications for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate Courses (CUET UG 2024).
The UGC Chairman Makes The Announcement
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar posted on microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) saying, “Regarding the request from candidates and other stakeholders, the deadline for online application submission of the CUET-UG-2024 has been extended to March 31, 2024 (up to 09:50 p.m.).” For the most recent updates, please check https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.”
The UGC president had earlier, on March 17, stated that the entrance exam timetable will not be altered in light of the Lok Sabha elections; as previously scheduled, the CUET-UG 2024 will take place between May 15 and May 31, 2024.
The UGC Chairman had stated that following the completion of the registration procedure, the date sheet for the examination would be made public.
Two Additional Subjects For The CUET-UG 2024
In a related development, the National Testing Agency reported that it has added two new subjects (fashion studies and tourism) to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) – 2024 in compliance with the directives of the UGC and CBSE. The purpose of these additions is to encourage skill subjects in a manner consistent with the NEP recommendations.
In addition, the NTA stated, “Candidates should be aware that individuals who have already turned in their online application for the CUET (UG)-2024 may include these topics in their application during the rectification period. However, there will be an extra cost (if applicable) for the candidate who chooses more subjects.
It is anticipated that the admission exam will take place tentatively between May 15 and May 31, 2024. On June 30, 2024, the results will be announced, albeit provisionally.

- Go to the registration page for new candidates.
- To obtain your login credentials, register.
- Register and complete the application.
- Please upload the necessary files and pay the application cost.
- Fill out the form and save the page of confirmation.
Scheme Of The Exam
There will be 29 disciplines and 33 languages. Any subject or language offered by the relevant university or organization may be selected by the candidate. In each language paper, the applicant is expected to attempt 40 of the 50 questions.
General Test: For any undergraduate program offered by a university, admittance is determined by a general test. Out of the 60 questions, the applicant is expected to attempt 50.
