Gautam Gambhir, the former opener for India, complimented Union Home Minister Amit Shah on his recent electoral success during their meeting.
On Monday, Gambhir posted a brief video of his meeting with the Union Home Minister on X, promising to improve India’s security and stability under his leadership.

Under the Modi 3.0 Cabinet, Amit Shah assumed leadership of India’s Home Ministry last week for the second time in a row. The portfolio has been in his possession since 2019. Shah won Gujarat’s Gandhinagar seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election with an overwhelming 7,44,716 vote margin. He received 10,10,972 votes, more than Congressman Sonal Patel’s 2,66,256 total.
Shah prevailed in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019 by a margin of 5,57,014 votes. Veterans of the BJP including Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani, previously held the seat.
Gautam Gambhir To Coach India Team For T20 World Cup 2024?
However, Gambhir has been strongly associated with the Indian men’s team’s head coaching role. The T20 World Cup 2024 in June will mark the end of Rahul Dravid’s tenure as head coach of Indian cricket, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India is currently in the process of selecting the next coach.
He expressed his interest in accepting the position earlier in the month, saying,I have not answered this question, although a lot of people have asked me. But I have to answer you now. I would love to coach the Indian team. There is no bigger honor than coaching your national team. You are representing 140 crore Indians and those across the globe as well.”
After winning their third game against the co-hosts, the USA, and India advanced to the Super 8. On Thursday, they will take on Afghanistan in their first match in Barbados.
