Cricket lovers are flocking to One8 Commune, the newest restaurant in Hitech City, Hyderabad. It is located on the first floor of the loft building. Are you curious as to why? This is one of the eateries in the chain that cricket legend Virat Kohli co-owns. Hyderabad Kohling! is a sign at the entrance that has emerged as the newest hotspot for selfies.
One8 Commune: The Interiors
The interiors, which have earthy tones of light brown, include cane and wicker furniture, lamps, and fans. The view of a high-rise made of glass and metal is in the background. The colors are vibrant, ranging from blue to gold. This is a light-filled, airy space with both conventional and elevated seating. When it opens in the evening, it provides food, drinks, and entertainment to keep you entertained till the end of the night.
It is to be expected that there is an abundance of cricket memorabilia on display; everything from the menu to the chic equipment used to serve beverages shouts sports. One beautiful item of décor that entices nearly everyone inside for a picture is Virat Kohli’s jersey, which he digitally live-signed when visiting the restaurant with the RCB team in Hyderabad for a match.
The Widely Diverse Menu
The menu undoubtedly has several of the cricketer’s favorites, such as the delicious mushroom cream avocado cheese. This crimson dish is a steamed dim sum with a few tweaks. The dim sum wrap dough’s usage of beetroot juice gives it its crimson color. When you bite into it for the first time, the warm cream cheese melts away to reveal a mushy avocado bite, and occasionally you’ll get a piece of shitake mushroom along with the woodsy, garlicky flavors of truffle oil.
Rahul S was excited to exhibit the cocktails that could feed a table of four from the bar. The trophy pour has a mix of whites such as vodka and gin and is blended with blue pea blossom tea. The mango picante, which combines mango with a spicy touch, is a good option for tequila enthusiasts who like a little kick to their beverages. I couldn’t finish a drink that served four.
Byadgi Mirchi Paneer and lime chili pickled hot prawns were served when the topic of regional flavors was raised. The paneer was a spicy option because it was full of flavor and had a lot of heat from the chili. Due to the use of green chilies, the pickled lemon prawns were likewise quite spicy. The last local touch is the addition of curry-patta tadka (curry leaf tempering). The avocado flatbread is a good option for those seeking something moderate.
One8 Corporate Chef Explains The Menu
Corporate Chef Agnibh Mudi of One8 says, “We currently have eight restaurants across the country. At every restaurant, we have quite a few of Virat’s favorites. In each city, we also have a section of the menu to suit local palates. In Hyderabad, we have added the love for spice to a couple of chicken, prawns, and paneer dishes. We also have local favorites like Hyderabadi khatti dal, anda keema, pav, and are working on a soy version of haleem. I am very proud of that trial.”
Modern Indian, regional, Asian, and continental cuisine are all featured on the menu. Pizza, khatti dal, mutton rogan josh, sliders, and international favorites like laksa and hawker-style noodles are among the available dishes. The menu’s “Pasta and large plate” section also features some traditional dishes such as penne grilled fish and spaghetti aglio e olio.
