Stree 2′ Smashes Records with ₹505 Crore Worldwide
On August 15, “Stree 2” opened with a box office receipt of Rs 51.8 crore. By the conclusion of Day 8, the horror-comedy had made Rs 308 crore (including Wednesday’s paid previews). The movie made Rs 33.80 crore on Day 10. Currently, the ‘Stree 2’ total has reached Rs 361 crore (net). The movie brought about Rs 505 crore worldwide. For the uninitiated, ‘Stree’ is produced with an expenditure of Rs 50 crore.
‘Stree 2’s’ Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Jana in the movie, gave appreciation to the entire crew for the huge success. He said, “When you have 200 people giving positive energy while making the film, those 200 get multiplied to 2 lakh and then 2 crore in the cinema halls. It’s nothing but good energy on the sets. Every day, we would start a scene with a song that is relatable and contextual to the scene – may be from the early 60s, 90s – anything that is Bollywood, OG Hindi, and that’s how we start our day on the sets. We eat together, and we hang out together. It’s like a family making a film. That’s exactly how the energy is supposed to be on the sets. That’s how good films were made in the old days. It used to be like a family gathering and that’s what ‘Stree 2’ is about. That’s the number one thing about its success.”
Stree 2: Sarakate Ka Aatank
Stree 2, which debuted on August 15, had competition from Nikkhil Advani’s Vedaa, which starred Sharvari and John Abraham, and Mudassar Aziz’s Khel Khel Mein, which starred Akshay Kumar. However, Stree 2 ended up earning the most money of all of them. Starring alongside Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee is the film, which was written by Niren Bhatt. The horror-comedy world of Maddock Films, which also features Munjya and Bhediya, includes Stree 2.
