The peon reportedly manipulated the blood test report of the 17-year-old accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, leading to his arrest yesterday along with two physicians. Sources claim that the peon gave the doctors a ₹ 3 million bribe. According to sources, Atul Ghatkamble, the peon, served as an intermediary and took ₹ 3 lakh in bribes intended for the two doctors who worked for the teen’s family.
Doctors Taken Into Custody
The Pune Crime Branch detained Drs. Ajay Tawade and Hari Harnor of Sasoon Hospital yesterday. According to the investigation, on the day of the accident, Dr. Tawade and the father of the adolescent accused had a phone conversation. “The juvenile’s father had called the doctor and offered him allure to replace the blood samples,” according to authorities.
It has been learned that Dr. Taware has alluded to the replacement of the minor blood samples with doctor blood samples. The samples were switched, according to officials, to get rid of any alcohol residue. “I will not keep quiet. I will take everyone’s name,” he said during the investigation.
According to insiders, the physicians not only falsified the teen’s blood test results, but they also passed the physical exam without doing a thorough examination on him.
The Pune Police Provides Reports
Amitesh Kumar, the commissioner of Pune Police, stated Tuesday that the hospital samples sent for forensic examination did not belong to the minor accused.
“Around 11 am on May 19, a blood sample (of the teen) that was taken at Sassoon Hospital was thrown in a dustbin and the blood sample of another person was taken and sent to the forensic lab. During the investigation, we found CMO Srihari Halnor replaced this on the instructions of Ajay Tawade, HOD of the forensic medicine department at Sassoon Hospital,” Mr. Kumar said while addressing the media.
Following the replacement of the minor’s blood samples, the report that was received on Sunday revealed no evidence of alcohol consumption. But he was seen drinking with pals on CCTV footage from one of the places he went that evening.
