Pranat Tudu, the BJP candidate for the Jhargram parliamentary seat, was allegedly attacked by miscreants in Monglapota while he was visiting booth number 200 during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, which was now in progress.

The episode was captured on camera, wherein a mob pelting the BJP candidate, his security, and numerous media crews with stones raced after them. His security team responded swiftly to the attack and escorted him out of the building without incident. The BJP leader’s automobile was also vandalized during the incident.
Sonamani Tudu of the CPI(M) and Kalipada Soren of the Trinamool Congress are Tudu’s opponents.
BJP Leader Pranat Tudu Comments On The Situation
Pranat Tudu addressed the situation by saying, “We learned yesterday that BJP electors in Monglapota are not being permitted to cast ballots. We arrived at this area to investigate the cause of the issue as a result. Here, about 200 individuals attacked us using guns, lathis, and stones. If Central forces hadn’t been present, we might have been killed. The local cops offered us no security at all. Didi is opposed to imposing CAA and turning the nation into Pakistan.”
“All of a sudden, TMC goons who had blocked the roads started hurling bricks at my car. When my security personnel tried to intervene, they were injured. Two CISF jawans accompanying me received head injuries and had to be hospitalized,” Tudu said.
BJP Nominee Threatens Voters?
To maintain order, a sizable police detachment was dispatched to the scene. The local TMC leadership charged Tudu with attempting to “vitiate the peaceful polling process” while refuting the accusations.
“The BJP nominee was threatening voters. The villagers got enraged and staged a protest,” a local TMC leader said. The mob allegedly also vandalized vehicles that belonged to different media outlets.
Pranat Tudu is contesting Kalipada Soren of the TMC for the Lok Sabha seat designated for the Scheduled Tribe of Jhargram. Although the TMC demonstrated total domination in all Jhargram assembly segments in 2021, the BJP won the seat in 2019.
